Devlog#6 Developing the Early Artwork
Making the Main Screen and Cockatiel:

I am being quite sincere when I say that this project has been a very learning experience to me. I have started with the central screen, made it welcoming and cozy, as that gives you the first impression of what type of a game it is without having to explain too much. I wanted it to be airy and easy going almost the silentness before a venture. The little extras such as the layout and clouds were added bit by bit and it was quite satisfying to view the entire thing on screen.
Then I proceeded to modelling the cockatiel and I soon found this stage to be my favourite. I continued to watch the way they go, the bobbing of the little head, the puffing-up, the curiousness. I did not only want to paint another bird, but to paint its personality. Any little modification of the form or expression brought it to life, and that was, in truth, the most pleasing of all.
Now I have completed texturing the model, which actually made everything complete. It is warm and expressive, its soft yellows and low blush on its cheeks and making it just as I imagined it. Then I am working on the animation, adding little motions, such as flutter of wings and little hops to it to make it look inquisitive and alive. It is such a relief to see it finally take shape that watching a little personality develop within the game world feels like watching a child develop.
